Homemade Fries with Paprika

I love fries. Yes, even if I am a dietitian, I eat everything – I don’t have any forbidden food. Sometimes, I feel like eating fries from a restaurant, sometimes I want them homemade. So here’s my favorite homemade seasoned fries recipe. Easy to make and delicious, they’re perfect for a weekday, but they also make the perfect side for a weekend dinner.

Servings: about 4

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Homemade fries

Ingredients

  • 4 medium Yukon Gold potatoes (or Russet potatoes)
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Place one rack in the highest position in the oven and another rack in the middle position. Preheat to 425F convection.
  2. Line two baking sheets with aluminum foil.
  3. Slice the potatoes into ¼-inch-wide sticks and place them in a large bowl.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients and toss to coat.
  5. Spread the potatoes into a single layer on the two prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, then flip the fries using a spatula.
  7. Return to the oven, switching the position of the baking sheets (place the one who was on the top rack in the middle position).
  8. Continue baking for about 10-15 minutes or until the fries are as crispy as you like.
