There are many snack recipes on the blog, but one was missing – granola bars! In this recipe, you’ll find my favorite ingredients (again): peanut butter and chocolate! The best thing about those bars is that you only need a few ingredients and 1 bowl.
Servings: about 16 bars
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup honey
- 1/3 cup sunflower kernels
- ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
- 3 cups old-fashioned oats
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- Grease a 13 x 9 inches baking pan with butter or oil.
- Place the peanut butter, brown sugar, and honey in a bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Mix until melted.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, except the chocolate chips, and mix well.
- Mix in the chocolate chips.
- Put the mixture into the prepared pan and press firmly with your fingers or the back of a spoon.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until the granola bars are getting a little golden.
Note:
- You can store these granola bars in the fridge or at room temperature for about 5 to 7 days. Personally, I prefer keeping them in the fridge for better quality.
