Peanut Butter Granola Bars

There are many snack recipes on the blog, but one was missing – granola bars! In this recipe, you’ll find my favorite ingredients (again): peanut butter and chocolate! The best thing about those bars is that you only need a few ingredients and 1 bowl.

Servings: about 16 bars

Cooking time: 20 minutes

granola bars

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1/3 cup sunflower kernels
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Grease a 13 x 9 inches baking pan with butter or oil.
  3. Place the peanut butter, brown sugar, and honey in a bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Mix until melted.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients, except the chocolate chips, and mix well.
  5. Mix in the chocolate chips.
  6. Put the mixture into the prepared pan and press firmly with your fingers or the back of a spoon.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the granola bars are getting a little golden.

Note:

  • You can store these granola bars in the fridge or at room temperature for about 5 to 7 days. Personally, I prefer keeping them in the fridge for better quality.
